Tuesday, July 12 - 1. CASPER IS a Friendly Ghost! Don't Be Afraid to Analyze Your CASPER Reports for Quality Improvement
So much of our data in home health is derived from the CASPER reports. They are the foundation for Home Health Compare and a number of elements included in Value Based Purchasing. This session will help your agency to understand how to run and interpret the reports that you need to advance your quality initiatives.
a. Identify 2 – 3 of the different reports available in the CASPER system
b. Verbalize how to interpret the Outcome Reports (Risk Adjusted and Potentially Avoidable Events)
c. Describe how the reports can be used to enhance quality initiatives
Tuesday, July 19 - 2. Using Data to Move Performance Improvement
Data everywhere! So many sources and often conflicting information! Now that you have a better understanding of CASPER, you can use some of the information from the “scrubber” programs to get a better sense of what is going on within your organization. Scores not where you want them to be? How do you prioritize projects, and where do you start? These are some of the topics that will be addressed in this session.
a. Verbalize how to differentiate between the data from CMS reports and that provided by other vendors
b. Identify how to prioritize Performance Improvement projects
c. Describe how to implements effective Plans of Action
Tuesday, July 26 - 3. Is Your PI Program Up To Snuff?
Now, more so than ever, an agency’s success in terms of quality and fiscal measures really depends on a robust Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement Program. Does your agency have the critical components to succeed? How do you decide what are the key elements that you must attend to for a successful survey or audit? This session will help to identify key areas that should be part of every PI Program.
a. Define the role of the Performance Improvement Manager/Director
b. Describe the major elements of a Performance Improvement program
c. Identify key strategies for promoting Performance Improvement within the organization
