Compression plays a vital role in both wound healing and reduction of wound recurrence. Participants will increase their understanding of lower extremity ulcer presentation, compression types, options, dosage and how each can ultimately impact success and outcomes. In the home health arena, it is vital to clearly understand current options available to maximize clinical effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
Christopher Miles, OT, CLT, CWCA Wound Care and Lymphedema Clinical Education Specialist, mediUSA
Christopher has been in the business of compression for over 14 years. He trained as an occupational therapist and in his ten years as a clinician, he worked in 5 different hospital systems. After years in the hospital, it was comprehensive management of Lymphedema and wound care that finally drew his interest. With further specialty training, Christopher enjoyed the problem-solving required with this challenging population. He was drawn to the industry-side of the business, and worked with an edema pump company, and now is the Wound Care & Lymphedema Clinical Education Manager with mediUSA.
